What to do in Buenos Aires in 3 days
From History - Art - Culture and Nature!

In Buenos Aires, there are many things to do! It’s a big city with lots of activities and beautiful places to visit! But if you’re here for 3 days, these are the things I’d recommend to give you an idea of the history and culture. We’ll offer experiences so you can get a bit of everything, from the historic center to learning about culture, to spending a day in nature at one of my favorite spots in Buenos Aires!

Things to keep in mind! All these points I’m going to recommend are full of tourists and locals going about their daily lives! But please, always be careful with your belongings! Just a simple tip to take care of your trip!

Day 1: Historical and Cultural Exploration

Visit the most historic points. These spots are close by, so you can go by bus, metro, or taxi/Uber.

Plaza de Mayo: Start your day at the heart of Buenos Aires. Explore the iconic square, surrounded by historical landmarks like the Casa Rosada (Presidential Palace) and the Metropolitan Cathedral. Walking along Av. de Mayo can be beautiful, and you can enjoy some iconic cafes along the way!

Cabildo: Visit the Cabildo, the colonial town hall which played a significant role in Argentina’s independence.

San Telmo: Wander through the cobblestone streets of San Telmo, known for its antique markets, street art, and tango performances.

Puerto Madero: End your day with a stroll along the waterfront of Puerto Madero. Enjoy lunch or dinner at one of the many restaurants overlooking the Rio de la Plata.

La Boca: Explore the colorful neighborhood of La Boca, home to the famous Caminito street, vibrant houses, and tango shows.

Day 2: Art and Cuisine

Recoleta Cemetery: You can start at Recoleta Cemetery, where you can see the elaborate mausoleums of Argentina’s elite, including Eva Perón’s tomb.

Palermo: Head to Palermo, Buenos Aires’ largest neighborhood. Explore its parks, trendy boutiques, and street art. Palermo Soho and Palermo Hollywood. Art in its streets, and its great variety of restaurants. In this neighborhood, you can enjoy anything from lunch to grabbing a beer. Generally, in the afternoons/nights, there’s a lot of young people enjoying beers or snacks in the bars.

Bosques de Palermo: The iconic park! You can enjoy a picnic while learning and tasting mate! Its origins, what it is, how it’s taken, and all the customs behind this drink! While you learn and taste mate with typical pastries, you can paint your own mate to take it everywhere! Here’s the link so you can check out the experience better! You’ll feel like a local! https://www.airbnb.com/experiences/3522259

Asado: Enjoy a traditional Argentine asado dinner at one of the many steakhouses in Palermo or Recoleta, or even better, choose an Airbnb Experience to feel like a local and learn about it!

Day 3: Nature and Relaxation

One of my favorite plans! This plan is to get out of the city a bit and connect with nature! Tigre is less than 1 hour from the capital (you can go by train or car), and it’s a space to relax and have a different experience during your stay! There’s Tigre Delta and Tigre Continente, my recommendation is to do the following:

TIP: I recommend this plan for sunny days!

Tigre Delta: Take a day trip to the Tigre Delta, located just outside Buenos Aires. Explore the lush waterways by boat, visit the artisan market, and enjoy a leisurely lunch by the river. There are many “recreos” which are islands with spaces to enjoy a picnic or restaurants next to the river!

Puerto de Frutos: Wander through the Puerto de Frutos market in Tigre, where you can find crafts, fresh produce, and local delicacies.

I hope you find this helpful! This is what I recommend as a local for 3 days in Buenos Aires! A bit of everything, city, and nature. For any information, message me on WhatsApp!
